Always to be one to jump on any band wagon of anything. I'm currently working on my BA in English with no idea of what is going to happen after I finish. I work with junior high students and teach sunday school at church. Have tried stand up comedy, had a few poems published, and usually wind up buying too many books at the book trader.

My Big Plate

Much has been happening over the last six months. Besides finally getting to finally catch my favorite band, The Pogues, perform (which was only made sweeter by having Ken and The Tait with me), but after three years of searching I have finally found a regular job at a medical supply company. I split my time between warehous work and doing customer service. Oddly enough I find myself enjoying working in the warehouse more than working in yet another cubicle. Though getting to talk to the many pt's on a day to day basis is pretty cool as well. Also, I have recently gotten my first paid job as a writer. A magazine out of Canada called Geez Magazine has accepted a short personal essay I wrote and are paying me a wopping $50 for it. As a buddy of mine has told me time and again, "If you are one of the fortunate ones to become a successful writer you can make hundreds of dollars." On another note, I am stepping down as the junior high sunday s...

the chieftains - the dublin reels

I said the Pogues were the greatest band to come out of Ireland. Ken thinks U2 trumps all Irish bands. We are both mistaken, for there is one band who really trumps all Irish groups. The Chieftains! All Irish bands who are famous today can thank their success to the Chieftains. The greatest Trad. Irish band in the world they still sell out theaters.

Here are a few more great live performances:

Modern Rennaissance

While working in a book store a co-worker once asked me,"How can you guys (Christians) go from writing Dante's Inferno to Left Behind? What happened? You guys had the Rennaissance!" Some recent conversations I've been having with John Tait and a few others have made me wonder the same thing and what is the Christians role in the artistic community. Chuck Colson has a great article on a rise of quality Christian Lit. It's worth a read and listen.

http://www.breakpoint.org/listingarticle.asp?ID=2178
C.S. Lewis' Inspiration

Another Late Night!

It took me over an hour to make tonights deposit for work. We made over 10 grand just in cash alone. I have heard we are the crack dealers of the 21st century. The money and time people are willing to spend on this is amazing, but also not suprising. I know if I play a video game I can easily sit on my couch all day every day without leaving to go outside. It's sad really. The longer I am there the more I am wondering whether God wants me to stay or not. It may be better schedule wise for going to school and it'd be nice to have some benefits again. But my schedule will no longer be regular and I could find myself like tonight getting home at midnight. At least tomorrow I can sleep in and watch my saturday morning cartoons. And then the Christmas extravaganza at youth group. I am excited. Last year I didn't get to participate.
And God Opens A Window

After spending the past few years in temp Babylon I have started working part time at a video game store. During my early years in the working world I started off working at variouis shops and restaurants and I never thougth I'd work in any type of situation again. God works in mysterious ways. There is a potential that it may become a full time job and allow me more opportunity to go back to school. I'm not sure if this is a direction God wants me to take, but the idea of going back into cube land is equally as unnatractive.

Coming up, youth christmas party extravaganzas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
